Software Development and Having a Haircut
DISCLAIMER: This post is intended to be read by those in the IT industry and those who are familiar with software development life cycle, so pardon if I didn’t explain how haircut and software development are related. I’m “assuming” na “gets nyo na yan”. =))

As I went to the barber shop a while ago, I thought of having a haircut as a good analogy of how software is built in “some” IT companies. Here’s how it goes:

When you decided to have a haircut, most likely, may naisip ka na kung anong gupit ang gusto mo bago ka pa pumunta sa barber shop. For example, barber’s cut.
You sit down on the barber’s chair, then you tell the barber na babawasan lang ang tabi and malinis na gupit (barber’s cut).
But then, as he was already cutting your hair, you suddenly realize na: “Teka, medyo mahirap ata magsuklay. Paki-spiky hair na lang po or semi-flat.”
The barber obliges. And as he “almost” finishes his job by getting a gel or wax and preparing to style your hair, you thought: “Magastos pa nga pala pag kelangan pa ng gel (or wax) para i-style ang buhok… Tsaka baka hindi ako sagutin ng nililigawan ko kase mukha akong punkista. Kuya, semi-kal (or kalbo) na lang po pala, para cool.”
Of course it’s a whole lot easier for the barber to do that since he only needs to use the electric hair cutter to shave your hair off. Ang kaso, nung tapos na sya, pagkakita mo sa sarili mo sa salamin, “Hindi pala bagay! Sana pala flat-top na lang!”
Too late.. Nagupit na ni kuya lahat ng buhok mo. And you need to wait for a few more weeks kung gusto mong ipa-flat-top ang buhok mo. It would take time for your hair to grow back and recover. And much longer time kung maisipan mong spiky hair na lang, and even much longer kung barber’s cut na lang pala sana.
Bottom line: Whatever the style is, it would definitely take some time and effort. Kaya pag magpapagupit ka, siguraduhin mong alam mo na kung anong gupit ba talaga ang gusto mo. :))

Oh, and another thing. Wag mong mamadaliin yung barbero sa paggugupit ng buhok mo. Hindi natin alam kung pantay-pantay ang pagkakagupit nya pag binilisan nya ang trabaho nya. XP
